Western Sustainability Exchange (WSE) is a non profit based out of Livingston Montana that promotes sustainable agriculture and conservation across the western United States. Through partnerships with farmers, ranchers, and landowners, they facilitate the implementation of sustainable land management techniques such as transitioning to more sustainable grazing patterns. By working with ranchers to adopt practices like rotational grazing, which encourages healthier grasslands and sequesters carbon in the soil, the organization contributes to mitigating climate change while improving the resilience of ecosystems. Additionally, the organization fosters connections between producers and consumers who prioritize sustainable, locally sourced products by organizing events like farmers markets, farm-to-table dinners, and educational workshops. This comprehensive approach not only benefits the environment but also strengthens local communities and food systems. WSE is near and dear to my heart because I was fortunate enough to work for them during a summer internship with Montana Conservation Corps.
I like doing cool stuff and helping the planet while doing so.
Right now, WSE is the only organization that Earf is supporting because I want to have a relationship with and be involved in the projects that Earf is supporting. I have been fortunate enough to work on the rangelands grazing project at WSE myself and have also gotten to know dozens involved in the project. I believe in their mission and more importantly I believe in them as people. I am hoping to get involved and have this kind of relationship with every project that Earf supports.
If the Earf mission statement to the left resonates with you and you have a project of your own or know of one that follows those guidelines shoot me an email lets start doing cool stuff together :)
include pictures, I like pictures.
